Balbriggan Christmas Festival 2011
Balbriggan Town Council and Balbriggan Chamber of Commerce with the support of Fingal County Council are making a
special effort this year to promote Balbriggan during the busy Christmas Season by holding a Christmas Festival over the weekend Friday 2nd December 2011 to Sunday 4th December 2011.
The Balbriggan Christmas Lights Committee, which comprises representatives of the Town Council and the Chamber of Commerce, have traditionally arranged the Christmas lighting and festivities. They are seeking to build on this very popular community event by having a busy weekend of activities in the town centre.
Georges Square will be a pedestrian friendly zone to accommodate the holding of a festive Christmas Food & Crafts Market along with a variety of musical and street entertainment.
The Christmas festival will start on Friday 2nd December at 6p.m. with the launch of the Christmas Market followed by the turning on of the Christmas Lights.

The very popular Christmas Lights competition is underway again this year and one lucky child will be selected by an Cathaoirleach of the Town Council, Grainne Maguire at 7 p.m. to turn on the Christmas Lights and win a fabulous prize of an Xbox 360 Kinect. Entry forms are available in the Town Hall, Goldsmiths Jewellers, Supervalu and other shops throughout the town or download HERE
Balbriggan Farmers Market will also be operating on Saturday 3rd December 2011. A significant attraction for the younger members of the community on Saturday will be the Mobile Farm which was a wonderful success at last years Christmas event.
In an effort to show the wonderful community spirit that exists in Balbriggan, an outdoor Christmas Party has been arranged from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday 4th December 2011. Santa will be arriving at his Grotto outside the Town Hall at 3 p.m. to welcome the younger members of the community and will have some free gifts to give to the children. A wonderful atmosphere of music and family entertainment is promised.
For those attending the festival, free parking will be available at the Church Car Park and the Quay Street car park.
