It was announced yesterday and her name will be engraved on "The Jack Benton Trophy" which will be on display in the Credit Union. Click on the thumbnail to see the three winners. 28.01.11 Balbriggan Credit Union AGM A fantastic attendance of almost 300 members attended BCU AGM in the Bracken Court Hotel on Tuesday Dec 8th. Despite the bitter cold weather it did not deter the members from attending in droves – this was surely a record attendance at our AGM. All the reports were received well and the meeting proceeded on schedule for the evening and finished at 9.30 pm. The Treasurer announced that the Credit Union was still very healthy financially – we were still giving out loans to those who qualify. Finances were in good shape and the Credit Union has not cost the State one penny – we have not had to be baled out – and we. The Martin Mullen Training Room Balbriggan Credit Union celebrated last night the official renaming of the Board Room as The Martin Mullen Training Room. Martin was the manager at the Credit Union until his untimely death last year. Apparently Martin had a great saying "onwards and upwards and this is on the plaque outside the room. Bernie Russell -- Car Draw Winner The Car Draw took place last night in the Combined Clubs and we are delighted to announce that Bernie Russell of Bremore is the winner. Bernie tells us that she got the call last night but thought it was a hoax and it's only sinking in now. Bernie doesn't drive but her husband, John, is looking forward to driving a 10 car. Click on the thumbnail to view. 02.07.10 Credit Union School Quiz The Credit Union Nationwide School Quiz has become part of the annual celebration of Credit Unions- this year for the third year running our Youth Committee organised their own super Quiz between all the national schools in our common bond. We received a great response from the schools with St. Mologas, Balscadden and St. Teresa’s attending. The quiz was held in the Milestone Inn in Balbriggan with excellent prizes offered to the winning schools. 1st prize was a top of the range touch screen pc with additional software worth in the region of €1000, 2nd Prize a top of the range Laptop with starter kit and additional software worth €500, 3rd prize €250 worth of computer vouchers. Prizes were also given to the pupils of the first three teams.(€10 Cinema Voucher). All students who participated were given a special Credit Union pack made up of a ruler, pen, pencil and rubber. The winning teams came first second and third!  Were from St. Mologas National School – who, like all the Schools who entered the quiz, have been great supporters of our quiz over the years.
